ABOUT THE CABIN
Sit back on your treetop deck while observing the owls, bats, badgers and song birds in the wildlife haven surrounding you. Located in Britain's only coastal National Park, with minimal light pollution and glorious starlit night skies, Whimsy by the Sea is a magical, tranquil place to rest, relax and revive.
COSY CABIN INTERIOR
The light-filled open plan living space has a double-glazed glass wall looking out over the woods and opening onto the deck. There are two sofas, an electric log burner, a dining area with a table and chairs for four, and a compact kitchen with fridge-freezer, dishwasher, oven and microwave. The bedroom has a king size double bed and a separate dressing room, and there's a bathroom with WC, hand basin, and bath with an electric shower.
There is WIFI, a TV for playing DVDs (or use your own streaming account); a DVD library; books and games. Dogs are welcome. If you book direct, the first dog stays free.
All on one level, the cabin is entered via a couple of steps onto the deck. Inside the entrance door there’s a coat cupboard with hanging rail, small heater, hooks and space to take off and store shoes, wellies and dog leads. Unfortunately the cabin is not suitable for young children or people with mobility difficulties.
SUPERB VALLEY & TREETOP VIEWS
Whimsy by the Sea has a sunny south facing position surrounded by grass, bushes and trees. Sit out on the deck running the width of the cabin, and soak up the amazing views over the valley (the deck is gated too, great for dogs). At the side, there’s a dining patio and an outdoor tap; and there’s also private parking for two cars.
Bikes, boards, SUPs and other equipment can be stored outside in a sheltered area at the back of the cabin or under the deck. Neither area is enclosed. From June onwards, we’ll have a roll-up wire fence by the dining patio that you can pull around the patio and the bit of lawn at the front to create a safe dog space while you are outside. Roll it up again when you go inside or leave.
TIMBER HILL
Our cabin is in Timber Hill, a 100-acre family-run estate shared with around 40 other cedar cabins, many of which are privately owned like ours. The layout of the grounds has been designed with peace, privacy and nature in mind, making it the perfect natural hideaway by the sea.
Our cabin is in a great spot at the top end of the grounds, and has lots of space between it and our neighbours. Although there are other cabins around, ours feels very private and secluded. You have your own outside dining patio at the side, and there are large unfenced grassy areas between each cabin, adding to the sense of space and privacy. The grounds themselves are shared.
